In this bulletin Microsoft announced it is reparing four patches for its products, including 1 marked as critical. The patches effect multiple versions of Windows and Office. Alternative Network Solutions will be reviewing these patches to ensure they will not negativly effect our customer’s environments. Once the updates have been verified they will be pushed to our customer’s computers during our weekend maintenance schedule.

To install this update click the  menu on the top left of your screen and then click “Software Update”.This update will be key for the migration to Max OS X 10.7, Lion.

ios_logoWAHSINGTON, PA: Today Apple announced the latest version of iOS, the operating system that powers the company’s iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. This update brings many improvements. The ones most asked about by Alternative Network Solutions’ customers are an imporoved notification system and the ability to activate and use a device running iOS without needing to have a computer. The update will be available for free to users of the iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and 3rd and 4th generations of the iPod Touch.

macosxlogoWASHINGTON, PA – Today Apple, Inc announced further information about their upcoming operating system, Mac OS X Lion (10.7). This new operating system will replace the currently available one, Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6). This new operating system will be delivered exclusivly as a download through Apple’s Mac App Store. The update requires users be running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and their computers to have a Core 2 Duo, i5, i7 or Xeon processor.

The demonstration showed a lot of imporvments for tablet computers and touch interfaces. This version of Windows, which will eventually replace Windows 7 is still very early in its development and we do not expect any of the featurs to be in their final state.
