WASHINGTON, PA – Today marks the last day of support for Windows Vista. Vista was first launched in January of 2007. As of today the product has reached the end of its Extended Support time period. This means that Microsoft will no longer provide any support for this operating system, including security and vulnerability patching. Because there will no longer be available security patches computers with Windows Vista should be phased out as soon as possible.

WASHINGTON, PA – Today Microsoft has released the latest update to Windows 10. This update is called the Windows 10 Creator’s Update. The majority of the new features focus on creative professionals and gamers however there are features that are also applicable to business users. They have updated Microsoft Edge to be faster and more stable. They have also added new features to help manage tabs and improved battery life. Microsoft’s personal assistant Cortana has also been updated to understand more commands and better sync between devices for users with multiple computers. Lastly Microsoft has also added features to give users better control over security and privacy.

macossierraWASHINGTON, PA – Today Apple has released the next version of its desktop operating system, macOS. This has been previously known as OS X. macOS 10.12 is available for free via the Mac App Store. It is compatible with all Macs made after 2009.

The largest feature of macOS sierra is the addition of Siri, the voice assistant that has previously been only on the iPhone and iPad. Siri allows for the same functionality on the Mac that it does on iOS. Additionally Siri can be use for searching for files and emails.

There are also many improvements made to Exchange connectivity via the included Mail app. Mail from Exchange servers will now be retrieved more quickly.

osxyosemiteWASHINGTON, PA – Today Apple has released a update to OS X El Capitan (10.11). This free update is available to all Macs running OS X 10.11 and is available through the Mac App Store. It is recommended for all machines that support it.
